With the start of the new academic year, IESE´s proud and long-established focus on providing students from across the world with the skills to lead a globalized business ecosystem continues to thrive.
IESE’s incoming MBA and MiM classes are composed of students from impressively diverse geographic backgrounds.
The MBA Class of 2025 has 350 students overall, with 86% of students from outside of Spain and 56 nationalities represented. For the program, which kicked off last week on IESE´s Barcelona campus, 35% of the class are women. The average student age is 29.5 years old, and candidates arrive with an average 6 years of professional experience.
The class profile once again illustrates the global reach of the IESE MBA program. Seventy-one percent of students starting the program on IESE’s Barcelona campus come from outside of Europe. In a big jump, 29% of this year’s incoming class hail from Central and South America, compared to 20% of the previous class.
Class of 2025 students worked in a variety of sectors before joining the program, with finance (21%), industry (20%) and consulting (17%) being the most common. Communication, business & law (38%) and engineering (34%) were the most popular undergraduate majors of the cohort.
Meanwhile, IESE´s incoming Master in Management (MiM) Class of 2024 is made up 120 students, 62.5% of them from outside Spain and representing 37 nationalities. Women make up 37.5% of the cohort. The average age is 23. The MiM, which launched in 2019, is conducted on IESE’s Madrid campus.
Both programs offer a transformative experience for students.
As internationally renowned masters, Marc Badia, IESE Associate Dean for MBA & MiM programs, says “The rich cultural diversity at IESE Business School provides many benefits. It underscores our firm commitment to being inclusive, demonstrates the global reach of our alumni network and, perhaps most importantly, adds an invaluable dimension to the MBA and MiM student experience as classmates learn with, and from, peers from varied international backgrounds.”
