Against a challenging backdrop of economic slowdown, IESE´s MBA graduates continued to enjoy excellent career prospects in 2023.
In fact, 94% of MBA students were able to leverage the experience and know-how acquired at one of the world’s top business schools to land a job within three months of graduating, IESE said in its 2023 MBA employment report.
In terms of hiring trends, consultancy firms were the top recruiters, offering positions to almost half of the class, compared with one third the previous year. As many as 21% of graduates opted for full-time jobs in finance, and 16% for corporate and management roles.
Meanwhile, 30% of the class made the challenging “triple jump” of simultaneously switching industry, job function and geography to transform their career prospects.
The survey demonstrates IESE´s powerful appeal to recruiters attracted by the excellence of its track record in nurturing business talent. To cap another successful year, the Financial Times rated its MBA program the third-best in the world in 2023, while the school continues to score highly in other rankings.
IESE´s Career Development Center remains a key source of support for MBA students as they prepare to enter the job market, said Patrik Wallén, its Director.
Amazon, Bain & Company, Citigroup, Eli Lilly, McKinsey & Company and the Boston Consulting Group were among the firms that hired the most MBA graduates last year. About 280 companies offered full-time jobs or summer internships to students in 2022-2023.
The class of 2023 included 379 students, 25% of them women, of 58 different nationalities.
Spain was the most popular work destination for MBA students, with 25% opting to find work there, followed by the rest of Europe (24%), Latin America (20%), Asia-Pacific (12%), Middle East (11%) North America (6%) and Africa and Oceania (1% each).
