FT ranks IESE MBA no. 3 in the world
Internationality, career opportunities, high levels of student satisfaction and focus on sustainability highlighted
February 13, 2023
IESE’s full-time MBA is one of the top three programs in the world. That’s according to the Financial Times FT Global MBA Ranking 2023.
One of the reasons for IESE’s high position in the 2023 ranking is the diverse, international learning environment IESE provides students. Students mix with peers and faculty from various professional backgrounds, experiences and geographies, which enriches classroom discussions and networking. (As well as placing no.8 in the world for the diversity of professional backgrounds, 88% of the IESE MBA class is international, and 37% are women.) This is combined with numerous possibilities to get overseas experience (IESE ranks no.5 for international course experience.)
Another is how the IESE MBA can open up new professional opportunities for students, thanks to an active career center and engaged alumni network. The ranking highlights the strength of IESE´s Career Services (no.5 in the world), and the effectiveness of IESE’s alumni network (no.8).
Also worth noting is the excellent feedback alumni provide about their experiences at IESE. One reason for this is the personal approach the school takes to help develop each person – which includes, among others, small group sizes, high faculty to student ratios, and an emphasis on building community. On average, alumni rated their satisfaction with their overall IESE experience as 9.61 out of 10 (the seventh highest mark in the world).
IESE’s focus on sustainability also stood out as key. IESE’s MBA is ranked second in the world for ESG and net zero teaching, which looks at course content dedicated to ethics, social, environmental issues and climate solutions for how organizations can reach net zero. IESE also scored highly for its emphasis on reducing its carbon footprint (ranking no.6 in the world on this measure.)
“The IESE MBA is a truly transformative experience for students. One where they can develop professionally and personally,” notes Marc Badia, IESE Business School Associate Dean for MBA & MiM programs. “While no ranking can capture the full picture of any school, this latest excellent result does highlight some of the magic that goes into an IESE MBA. Such as providing an international experience that broadens horizons, and the focus on developing an entrepreneurial mindset so our graduates can innovate and excel wherever they take their next steps. Or our active career center and engaged alumni network to open up new professional opportunities. And finally, but no less importantly, our holistic approach to sustainability and responsible business throughout all aspects of the program. Our graduates are not only excellent at what they do, but they also want to impact those around them positively.”
