Juan Luis López Cardenete is Senior Lecturer in the Department of Strategic Management at IESE Business School. Prior to this he worked in industry, serving as the Managing Director of Unión Fenosa and Chairman of Unión Fenosa Internacional. He joined the company in 1978 and worked in a range of areas including generation, fuels, planning, control, strategy and marketing.

He is currently a member of the board of directors of OMEL and a member of the editorial board of Actualidad Económica and Expansión.
