Juan Carlos Vázquez-Dodero was a professor (1969-2016) of the Department of Accounting and Control and the Department of Business Ethics at IESE International Business School. He has also been a very active member of the Analysis of Business Problems Teaching Unit. His main area of expertise involves planning and management control systems.
Prof. Vázquez-Dodero is the co-author of two books, Accounting for Management (2002) and Evaluation and Control of Management (1997), a hundred case studies and technical notes, and numerous newspaper articles. He is currently working on prudential decision-making, a central issue in IESE teaching.
Prof. Vázquez-Dodero took part in the launch of other management schools, such as the IAE in Argentina, IEEM in Uruguay, PAD in Peru and AESE in Portugal, as well as the San Telmo Institute in Seville. He has devoted many years to training, especially junior faculty in teaching, at IESE and Associated Schools.
He has worked as a consultant for both large and small companies, in different sectors such as tourism, manufacture of aeronautical components, laser surface treatment, fast food franchises, cleaning and facility services. He has also had varied experience as an entrepreneur (beverage distribution, media news? selection, textiles and Internet), which provided him with a practical vision of the day-to-day life of entrepreneurs and executives.
For many years, he has been a member of the Boards of Directors of IBERSOL Group, EatOut Grup and Jeanología. In 2004 he founded and has subsequently actively chaired an NGO (Friends of Rimkieta Foundation) that works in Burkina Faso. Since 2017, he has been a Member of the Board of Trustees of the IESE Foundation.
