Martín Cabiedes

José Martin-Cabiedes holds an MBA from IESE and Civil Engineer degree from ICAI.

He acts as investment manager at Cabiedes & Partners SCR, a VC-Fund focused on seed investments in the Spanish ICT space. The vehicle’s committed capital is equally shared between his family and some relevant local and pan-European institutional investors. Since 1998, more than 60 investments have been executed. The fund currently holds in excess of 60+ seed/scale-up investments in the space after 10+ successful exits (ADQ, Privalia, Trovit, BlaBlaCar, Habitissimo, Deporvilage, etc.)

Alongside his investment mandate, José started investing in Search Funds in 2014 alongside his brother and Co-GP in the VC funds, under a pure principal basis. Nowadays, after 80+ SF commitments, Inversiones Cabiedes SL, their investment arm, has a live portfolio of 22 companies and they are exposed to +40 active searchers mostly focused in Europe and Latin America.

José Martin-Cabiedes founded and acts as Trustee at Fundación Hazloposible the leading provider of internet-based platforms for the NGO sector in Spain. He also participated in the launch of the first social ICT incubator in Spain to help nurture the raising force of social entrepreneurship in the technology and internet space. The incubator, named UEIA, hosted more than 25 seed projects with various value propositions but a common relevant social impact.

José Martín-Cabiedes is a member of the Board at EuropaPress the biggest news agency in Spain. Previously he worked as MD at BBVA Asset Management and BBVA's Treasury Operations after launching BBVA&Partners the first Spanish regulated Hedge Fund.
