Christoph Zott is professor and head of the department of Entrepreneurship. His current work centers on business model innovation, entrepreneurship in established firms, innovation strategy and new venture creation. He teaches, consults and conducts research on these topics.
Prof. Zott has published his research in the Academy of Management Journal, Administrative Science Quarterly, Journal of Business Venturing, MIT Sloan Management Review, Organization Science, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal and the Strategic Management Journal, as well as in other research outlets and books. He is the author of Business Model Innovation Strategy, published by Wiley in 2021. Prof. Zott is also an editorial board member of the Strategic Management Journal and a former co-editor of the Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal.
In addition, Prof. Zott serves an elected Fellow of the Strategic Management Society and he was elected as Chair of the Strategic Management Division of the Academy of Management, the world’s largest organization of management scholars.
Prof. Zott holds graduate degrees with distinction in industrial engineering from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (Germany) and Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble (France). He received his Ph.D. in commerce and business administration from the University of British Columbia (Canada).
