Carlos Halpern holds a MSc in Physics from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, an MBA from IESE Business School, an AMP from Harvard Business School and is currently pursuing his PhD in Universidad Pontificia de Comillas. He also holds a certificate for professional board members from Instituto de Consejeros y Administradores.
His professional experience includes various top management positions in Liberbank where among other projects he led the integration of Banco CCM in the group. He also has held several senior positions in management consulting firms including Europraxis and Ronald Berger.
His corporate governance background includes several boards of directors including, among others, Catalana Occidente, Atradius NV and Crédito y Caución. He also has had investment responsibilities in a Family Office and some investments as a Business Angel.
Carlos Halpern conducts finance courses at IESE Executive Education programs.
During his career, centered in the financial services industry, he has addressed many challenges including corporate integration, restructuring and cost reduction, M&A, strategy definition, digital transformation, and strategic risk management. He is currently developing his thesis on the role of digital technologies in international risk management.
