Novo Nordisk Chair of Management Matters in Diabetes
Holder: Jaume Ribera
The Novo Nordisk Chair of Management Matters in Diabetes was created in 2020 with the goal of contributing to the improvement of healthcare management, with a particular focus on hospital services in endocrinology.
Together with a working group composed of department heads from different Spanish hospitals, the Chair analyzes the main problems and challenges leaders in this field are facing. The knowledge generated will create a “patient journey” that can provide solutions which may be applied to the management of other health specializations.
Research lines
Among other academic initiatives, the Chair will produce a study to better understand the principal obstacles that currently exist in the management of diabetes, and will propose concrete measures to overcome them.
The results will be based on large-scale surveys of endocrinologists around the country, which will guarantee that a sufficiently wide data base will be obtained. Based on this research, a case study will be written, which will be presented to professionals in this medical specialization.
