Chair: Xavier Vives
The Abertis Chair of Regulation, Competition and Public Policy, created in 2006, is dedicated to researching, generating ideas and increasing knowledge in the fields of regulation, competition and public policy. The research findings contribute to the inspiration and education of employers and managers.
The Chair fosters the exchange of ideas between businesses and academic institutions. To this end, it organizes a wide range of activities, such as international symposia and congresses, regular meetings of experts from all over the world, keynote lectures, sessions for IESE’s Alumni Learning Program and courses in collaboration with the Public-Private Sector Research Center.

Chair.
Xavier Vives is a professor of Economics and Financial Management, and academic director of IESE’s Public-Private Sector Research Center. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley. Vives is a research fellow of CESifo (Munich) and of the Centre for Economic Policy Research in London, among other institutions. He has advised the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, the European Commission and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York on competition, regulation and corporate governance.
