Emerging economies account for half the world’s GDP and are home to 85% of the planet’s population, shares that are steadily increasing. A thorough understanding of emerging economies is essential to succeeding in the business and financial worlds. This is the goal of the Banco Sabadell Chair of Emerging Markets.
The Chair develops specific courses as part of IESE’s Executive Education programs. Its activities also include working sessions for Banco Sabadell staff and other bank guests and clients, continuous training sessions, and conferences and seminars on emerging economies.
Objectives.

Chair.
Pedro Videla is a professor of Economics. He holds a Doctorate in Economics from the University of Chicago. His areas of specialization include macroeconomics, international economies and emerging economies. As a consultant, he has taken part in projects with institutions such as the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the European Union, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the United Stated Agency for International Development.
